Position: ASC Materials Specialist

EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking internal applicants for the position of Materials Specialist to join our Ambulatory Service Center (ASC) Department. The Materials Specialist is responsible for purchases made by the surgery center from our vendors and guarantees that materials, supplies, and equipment orders are placed in a timely fashion.

Qualified candidates would be expected to:​

Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment in the ASC.

Monitor supply and handling of IOL’s and ensures adequate stock.

Set delivery assignments to ensure that the proper quantity of materials is delivered at the proper time.

Receive and properly disburse all materials to the various locations in the facility.

Maintain all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation.

Properly handle and store sterile supplies, maintaining sterility.

Utilize perpetual inventory management software to maintain purchasing guidelines.

Maximize inventory management and ensure compliance with vendors, distributors, and contractual requirements.

Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.

Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.

Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.

Negotiate, renegotiate, and prepare contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives for ASC Manager approval.

Organize contracts, price audits, and act as a liaison between distribution companies and EYE-Q Surgery Center

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, e-mail, and NextGen.

Ability to be a team player.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma/GED.
-
Six months to one-year related experience and/or technical school training.
​​
Pay Range:
-
$25.95 - $44.82 depending on skills, experience, and education.
