Position: EPIC Technician

We are seeking internal applicants for the position of Epic Technician to join our Clinic Team. The ideal candidate would have a strong desire to work in Ophthalmology and will be trained on the Epic refracting unit (refracting program, auto refractor, keratometer, and automatic lensmeter).

Qualified candidates would be expected to:

Acquaint all new patients with the office procedures to which they will be exposed.
Inform patients of the purpose of all tests and how they will be affected during the tests.
Display understanding of refractometry and retinoscopy and present doctors with accurate numbers and stated patient preferences.
Explain the refraction process to the patient.
Instill drops for use of TonoPen and dilation of patient upon request of doctor's schedule.
Communicate with doctors and perform specific tests or programs as requested.
Measure and document visual acuity.
Perform lensometry, automatic refractometry, and manual refractometry on patients.

Qualifications:

Medical Assistant training/certification (preferred)
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, Nextgen (preferred)

Education and Experience

High School diploma or General education degree (GED).
Six months to one-year related experience and/or technical school training.

Pay Range:

$21.00 - $25.72 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
